This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled by the Time & Motion Study mobile application (the "App") and by the website timemotionstudy.com (the "Website"), and by us — the developer and publisher of the App — when you use them.
 

Who We Are

Time & Motion Study is developed by Christopher G. Benavides (Christopher Gabriel Benavides), an independent developer based in the United States. The App is published:

• on the Apple App Store by Montage App, Inc., the company through which Christopher G. Benavides publishes his apps (App Store ID 1534451221), for iPhone, iPad, Mac with Apple silicon and Apple Vision; and
• on Google Play under the developer name "Christopher G. Benavides" (package name com.timermachineapp.android), for Android 5.0 and later.

References in this Policy to "we", "us" and "our" mean Christopher G. Benavides and Montage App, Inc. together, as the developer and publisher of the App.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Time & Motion Study App and the Website. Timer Machine and Timer Machine Pro are separate apps with their own privacy policy, published at timermachineapp.com.
 

Summary

• The App does not require an account and does not ask you to register or sign in.
• The App does not collect personal information from you. Your time studies — study names, elements, timings, performance ratings, comments, summaries and exports — are stored locally on your device.
• The App contains no advertising and no in-app purchases, and we do not sell any data.
• Information leaves your device only when you choose to export or share it (for example, a CSV or JSON file sent through email or your device's share sheet), or when you contact us.
 

1. Information Stored on Your Device

When you create a time study, the App stores the study configuration (element names, non-cyclical event categories, units per cycle) and the recorded data (timestamps, element times, performance ratings, comments and summary analytics such as average cycle time, cycles per hour and time distribution) in the App's local storage on your device. This information stays on your device and under your control. We do not have access to it, and it is not transmitted to us.
 

You can edit or delete individual records or entire studies from within the App, or remove all App data by uninstalling the App. If you use device backup services (such as Google Backup or Apple iCloud), copies of your App data may be included in those backups under the terms of Google's or Apple's privacy policies.

2. Information You Choose to Share

Exports. The App lets you export a study as a CSV or JSON file and share it through the apps you choose (for example, email, cloud storage or messaging). Once you share a file, it is handled by the service you selected under that service's terms and privacy policy. We do not receive a copy.
 

Contacting us. If you contact us through the "message" link in the App, through the Website's contact form, or by email, we receive the information you provide (such as your name, email address and the content of your message). We use it only to respond to you and to improve the App. Messages submitted through the Website's contact form are stored in the contact-management tools of our website provider, Wix. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to address your request and to keep a record of it, and we delete it on request.

3. Information Collected Automatically

The App itself does not run analytics on your behavior and does not collect personal information.

Platform services. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play and runs on Apple's operating system frameworks (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS) and on Google Play services (Android). These platform providers may process device or other identifiers for their own purposes — such as app distribution and updates, security, crash diagnostics and store functionality — as described in their privacy policies:

Our App Store privacy label states "Data Not Collected", and our Google Play Data safety section states that the App does not collect data, that any data in transit is encrypted, and that the App may share device or other identifiers with the third-party platform providers described above. We do not use such identifiers to identify you personally, and we do not sell them.
 

Website. The Website is hosted by Wix.com Ltd., which may set cookies and collect standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) to operate, secure and measure the site, as described in Wix's privacy policy at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy. The Website does not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

4. Permissions

The App requests only the permissions needed for its core functions — for example, to keep the timer running when your screen is locked or the App is in the background, and to share an export you create through your device's share sheet. The App does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.

5. Links

The App and the Website contain links to third-party services, such as the Apple App Store and Google Play (to rate or share the App), Amazon (for the book "Time & Motion Study: From Stopwatch to Smartphone"), and social networks such as LinkedIn and Instagram. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

6. Official Distribution

We distribute the App only through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Copies obtained from other websites or app repositories are not provided or supported by us, and we are not responsible for their contents or conduct.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is a professional tool for work measurement and is not directed to children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not collect personal information from children either. The only way personal information could reach us is if someone sends it to us directly (for example, by email); if we learn that such a message came from a child under 13, we will delete it.
 

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Your study data is stored on your device and is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App. Support correspondence and contact-form submissions are retained only as long as needed to handle your request. To ask us to delete correspondence or any other information you have sent us, email timermachineapp@gmail.com.

9. Security

Study data stored on your device is protected by your device's security features (such as your passcode or biometric lock). Data you export or send to us in transit is encrypted using industry-standard protocols. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
 

10. International Users

The App is published from the United States. Study data stays on your device wherever you are. Correspondence you send us is received and processed in the United States.
 

11. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Union and United Kingdom under the GDPR, Brazil under the LGPD, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because we do not collect personal information through the App beyond what you send us directly, we can honor such requests promptly. Contact us at timermachineapp@gmail.com. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
 

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its "Last updated" date, is always published at https://www.timemotionstudy.com/privacy-policy. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
